My Enemy

Assassin, saboteur
inside me, let me be
able to endure
what you do to me.

Whatever you’ve got planned,
whatever cunning twist
of harm by my own hand,
I know I can’t resist.

But maybe it will hurt
a little less if I
can infiltrate my heart
and learn the reasons why.
