Samir Toumi

Samir Toumi was born in 1968 in the Bologhine district of Algiers. After completing a graduate degree in engineering, he returned to Algiers, where he founded a consulting firm specializing in human resources. His literary début, Alger, le cri, was published in 2013 to critical acclaim. His second novel, L’Effacement, won the Prix de l’Association France-Algérie and the Prix de la Littérature Arabe in 2017. He is the founder and sponsor of the alternative art space “La Baignoire.”
